Grown from the halls of
NYU and cultivated in the Montreal studio of producer/engineer Howard
Bilerman (Arcade Fire, British Sea Power), Ravens & Chimes' debut
album, Reichenbach Falls, weaves a
magical blend of eclectic instrumentation, ear-grabbing percussion, and
superb musicianship. Among the instruments used to build each complex
track are the mandolin, glockenspiel, harmonium and a handmade
theremin, resulting in a carnival of sights and sounds oozing with
effervescent ambience. Reichenbach Falls encompasses the raw quality of
youth in a split open-heart combination of first lust, disappointment
and self-doubt.
